la COVID-19\u00a0\u2013 afin d\u2019\u00e9clairer notre travail et de contribuer \u00e0 renforcer notre Un quart (<strong>27&nbsp;%<\/strong>) n\u2019est pas s\u00fbr. Le soutien aux applications sp\u00e9cifiques de la g\u00e9nomique dans les diff\u00e9rents secteurs, telles que la lutte contre des maladies particuli\u00e8res, est tr\u00e8s \u00e9lev\u00e9.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Soutien aux applications sp\u00e9cifiques<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Le soutien pour l\u2019utilisation de la g\u00e9nomique \u00e9tait le plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 en ce qui concerne le diagnostic et la planification du traitement du cancer (<strong>81&nbsp;%<\/strong>), le diagnostic rapide des maladies rares (<strong>79&nbsp;%<\/strong>) et l\u2019identification, le suivi et le confinement des cas de COVID-19 (<strong>77&nbsp;%<\/strong>). En dehors de la sant\u00e9 humaine, le soutien \u00e0 l\u2019utilisation de la g\u00e9nomique \u00e9tait \u00e9galement \u00e9lev\u00e9 dans des domaines tels que la protection des colonies d\u2019abeilles (<strong>75&nbsp;%<\/strong>), la lutte contre les parasites qui envahissent les for\u00eats (\u00e9galement <strong>75&nbsp;%<\/strong>), l\u2019assainissement des eaux qui s\u2019\u00e9coulent des mines (<strong>73&nbsp;%<\/strong>) et la r\u00e9duction du m\u00e9thane \u00e9mis par le b\u00e9tail (<strong>70&nbsp;%<\/strong>), entre autres<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Soutien consid\u00e9rable pour l\u2019investissement dans l\u2019avenir de la g\u00e9nomique au Canada<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Il existe un important soutien en faveur d\u2019un investissement accru dans la recherche g\u00e9nomique, en particulier lorsqu\u2019il est li\u00e9 \u00e0 la fourniture d\u2019avantages en mati\u00e8re de sant\u00e9 et de maladies. Plus de <strong>7&nbsp;Canadiens sur&nbsp;10<\/strong> pensent que le gouvernement devrait investir le m\u00eame montant ou plus dans la recherche en g\u00e9nomique. Seulement <strong>9&nbsp;%<\/strong> pensent qu\u2019il devrait y avoir moins d\u2019investissements.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Lorsqu\u2019on leur demande d\u2019investir sp\u00e9cifiquement dans les causes g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques des maladies, par exemple, le soutien est plus \u00e9lev\u00e9&nbsp;: plus de la moiti\u00e9 (<\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 16px;\">57&nbsp;%<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">) souhaite un investissement plus important et <\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 16px;\">78&nbsp;%<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"> souhaitent que l\u2019investissement soit identique ou sup\u00e9rieur. Seulement <\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 16px;\">7&nbsp;%<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"> souhaitent que le gouvernement investisse moins.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Les Canadiens sont conscients et int\u00e9ress\u00e9s \u00e0 en savoir plus<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>La connaissance de la g\u00e9nomique est modeste; au moins&nbsp;<strong>31&nbsp;%<\/strong> de la population se consid\u00e8re un peu famili\u00e8re. Les r\u00e9pondants ont vu une br\u00e8ve description de la g\u00e9nomique comme \u00e9tant l\u2019\u00e9tude des \u00eatres vivants tels que les personnes, les animaux et les plantes, leur s\u00e9quence d\u2019ADN compl\u00e8te et la fa\u00e7on dont tous nos g\u00e8nes fonctionnent ensemble dans notre syst\u00e8me biologique. Compte tenu de cette d\u00e9finition, <strong>un quart<\/strong> des Canadiens n\u2019ont jamais entendu parler de ce terme tandis que <strong>44&nbsp;% <\/strong>en ont entendu parler, mais admettent ne pas en savoir beaucoup.<\/li>\n<li>Il est important de savoir que les Canadiens sont tr\u00e8s int\u00e9ress\u00e9s \u00e0 en apprendre davantage sur la g\u00e9nomique. En fait, <b>70&nbsp;%<\/b> des Canadiens sont int\u00e9ress\u00e9s ou quelque peu int\u00e9ress\u00e9s \u00e0 en apprendre davantage sur la g\u00e9nomique.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Les impressions sur la g\u00e9nomique sont globalement positives <\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Les impressions g\u00e9n\u00e9rales sur la g\u00e9nomique sont positives, car pratiquement personne n\u2019a d\u2019opinion n\u00e9gative et <strong>44&nbsp;%<\/strong> sont positifs ou quelque peu positifs. La familiarit\u00e9 avec la g\u00e9nomique est associ\u00e9e \u00e0 une attitude plus positive. Ceux qui ne sont pas positifs ne sont pas s\u00fbrs (<strong>26&nbsp;%<\/strong>) ou ont des sentiments mitig\u00e9s sur la g\u00e9nomique (<strong>27&nbsp;%<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>L\u2019exp\u00e9rience de la pand\u00e9mie a sensibilis\u00e9 les Canadiens \u00e0 la g\u00e9nomique; <b>41&nbsp;%<\/b> des r\u00e9pondants d\u00e9clarant qu\u2019ils sont devenus d\u00e9finitivement ou quelque peu plus conscients gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la COVID-19. La majorit\u00e9 (<strong>64&nbsp;%<\/strong>) sait que la g\u00e9nomique a \u00e9t\u00e9 utilis\u00e9e pendant la pand\u00e9mie. L\u2019exp\u00e9rience de la pand\u00e9mie a notablement am\u00e9lior\u00e9 l\u2019impression du public sur la g\u00e9nomique&nbsp;: <strong>55&nbsp;%<\/strong> sont plus positifs ou plut\u00f4t plus
