Investir dans les technologies et les id\u00e9es transformatrices en g\u00e9nomique aide \u00e0 \u00e9tudier certains des probl\u00e8mes les plus difficiles \u00e0 r\u00e9soudre au Canada, cr\u00e9e de nouveaux d\u00e9bouch\u00e9s commerciaux et stimule la croissance des emplois. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Aujourd\u2019hui, Marc Miller, d\u00e9put\u00e9 de Ville-Marie\u2014Le Sud-Ouest\u2014\u00cele-des-S\u0153urs a annonc\u00e9 que le gouvernement f\u00e9d\u00e9ral versera 9,1&nbsp;millions de dollars pour le soutien des innovations de rupture en g\u00e9nomique. Un projet portant sur une innovation de rupture offre la possibilit\u00e9 de faire quelque chose qui n\u2019\u00e9tait pas possible auparavant, ce qui veut dire de nouvelles technologies g\u00e9nomiques ou des technologies d\u2019un autre domaine, mais appliqu\u00e9es \u00e0 celui de la g\u00e9nomique, qui poss\u00e8dent un v\u00e9ritable pouvoir de transformation. Les projets financ\u00e9s peuvent supplanter une technologie existante, perturber un march\u00e9 existant, ou cr\u00e9er un nouveau d\u00e9bouch\u00e9 commercial. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>M.&nbsp;Miller a fait cette annonce \u00e0 l\u2019Institut de recherches cliniques de Montr\u00e9al et pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 les travaux de M.&nbsp;\u00c9ric&nbsp;L\u00e9cuyer, Ph.&nbsp;D., et de son \u00e9quipe qui examinent de nouvelles fa\u00e7ons de manipuler le comportement cellulaire et de mettre au point des traitements pour des troubles g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques pour lesquels il n\u2019existe aucun traitement.<\/p>\n<p>Le financement r\u00e9sulte du Concours&nbsp;2015&nbsp;: Innovation de rupture en g\u00e9nomique de G\u00e9nome&nbsp;Canada. Vingt projets au stade de l\u2019<em>id\u00e9e<\/em> (Phase&nbsp;1) recevront un financement. Cinq autres projets au stade du <em>prototype<\/em> (Phase&nbsp;2) seront financ\u00e9s pour faire progresser les id\u00e9es prometteuses et en faciliter la commercialisation.<\/p>\n<p>Les id\u00e9es \u00e0 approfondir comprennent&nbsp;:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>un nouvel outil pour visualiser les millions de g\u00e9nomes qui existent dans une seule tumeur, ce qui pourrait mener \u00e0 des th\u00e9rapies efficaces contre le cancer;<\/li>\n<li>la cr\u00e9ation de syst\u00e8mes de surveillance des insectes extr\u00eamement sensibles qui pourraient r\u00e9volutionner la gestion des ravageurs et pr\u00e9server la position du Canada comme exportateur important de produits forestiers et agricoles;<\/li>\n<li>une nouvelle technologie pour fournir une reconnaissance quasi instantan\u00e9e des infections par diagnostic de l\u2019ADN, ce qui pourrait sauver des vies et att\u00e9nuer le co\u00fbt \u00e9lev\u00e9 des infections non seulement en sant\u00e9 humaine, mais \u00e9galement dans les secteurs de l\u2019agriculture, des p\u00eaches et de la foresterie.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Les projets de prototypes \u2013 qui recevront 9,2&nbsp;millions de dollars de plus en cofinancement d\u2019autres sources telles que les provinces et le secteur priv\u00e9 \u2013 comprennent&nbsp;:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>une nouvelle technologie pour rendre les mod\u00e8les murins plus puissants et utiles afin d\u2019orienter l\u2019\u00e9tude de la sant\u00e9 et des maladies;<\/li>\n<li>une m\u00e9thode automatis\u00e9e d\u2019analyse des tumeurs canc\u00e9reuses pour faciliter la prestation des soins contre le cancer destin\u00e9s \u00e0 la population;<\/li>\n<li>une technologie avanc\u00e9e de prot\u00e9omique qui acc\u00e9l\u00e9rera la mise au point de th\u00e9rapies mieux cibl\u00e9es pour traiter les maladies humaines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Citations <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00ab&nbsp;La g\u00e9nomique est une technologie de rupture qui peut changer fondamentalement la recherche scientifique et transformer la fa\u00e7on dont nous abordons certains de nos plus grands probl\u00e8mes.
