Ce domaine multidisciplinaire des sciences et de la technologie, qui repose sur de solides bases g\u00e9nomiques, pourrait faire na\u00eetre de nouvelles solutions \u00e0 certains des probl\u00e8mes les plus \u00e9pineux du monde, depuis la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire jusqu\u2019aux traitements du cancer, en passant par les changements climatiques.<\/p>\n<p>La conf\u00e9rence <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ontariogenomics.ca\/2018syntheticbiologyconference\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Canada SynBio&nbsp;2018<\/a>, qui a eu lieu en mars dernier \u00e0 Toronto (Ontario), \u00e9tait la premi\u00e8re conf\u00e9rence nationale sur la biologie de synth\u00e8se au Canada, en partenariat avec ISDE Canada, G\u00e9nome Canada et les centres de g\u00e9nomique r\u00e9gionaux, le minist\u00e8re de la Recherche, de l\u2019Innovation et des Sciences de l\u2019Ontario, Le Conseil de recherches en sciences naturelles et en g\u00e9nie du Canada, MaRS Discovery District et Autodesk, de m\u00eame que les commanditaires Integrated DNA Technologies, Twist Bioscience et CropLife Canada.<\/p>\n<p>Des intervenants de l\u2019administration publique, du monde des affaires, des milieux universitaires et d\u2019autres ont convenu de quatre th\u00e8mes pour la suite des choses&nbsp;: l\u2019industrie et la commercialisation, les relations publiques et la confiance du public, la formation et l\u2019\u00e9ducation, ainsi que la poursuite d\u2019une vision future et la gouvernance.<\/p>\n<p>M\u00eame s\u2019il reste d\u2019importants obstacles strat\u00e9giques et r\u00e9glementaires \u00e0 surmonter, le Canada peut devenir un chef de file mondial de la biologie de synth\u00e8se dans les domaines des soins de sant\u00e9, de l\u2019environnement, des ressources naturelles, de l\u2019agroalimentaire, des mat\u00e9riaux de pointe, de la fabrication et de la recherche ax\u00e9e sur la d\u00e9couverte.<\/p>\n<p>Il faut cependant une strat\u00e9gie politique concert\u00e9e pour que le secteur progresse de fa\u00e7on \u00e0 r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 ses besoins de croissance, \u00e0 favoriser une attribution efficace des ressources et un examen proactif des r\u00e9percussions sociales plus larges de la biologie de synth\u00e8se.
