Ces l\u00e9gumes sont vuln\u00e9rables \u00e0 diverses maladies qui menacent les cultures et diminuent les profits des producteurs. Pour conserver un avantage concurrentiel, favoriser la croissance et assurer sa r\u00e9ussite future, l\u2019industrie canadienne des l\u00e9gumes de serre a besoin de vari\u00e9t\u00e9s v\u00e9g\u00e9tales qui r\u00e9sistent \u00e0 la maladie.<\/p>\n<p>Pour relever ce d\u00e9fi, Vineland Research and Innovation Centre s\u2019associera \u00e0 Mme Keiko Yoshioka, \u00e9minente chercheuse de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Toronto qui a d\u00e9couvert un g\u00e8ne important qui intervient dans la r\u00e9sistance des plantes aux maladies.<\/p>\n<p>Ce projet, dans le cadre duquel l\u2019\u00e9quipe recourra \u00e0 des technologies g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques \u00e9prouv\u00e9es pour am\u00e9liorer la r\u00e9sistance des l\u00e9gumes de serre aux maladies, vise \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper de nouvelles caract\u00e9ristiques et de nouvelles vari\u00e9t\u00e9s commerciales pour l\u2019industrie l\u00e9gumi\u00e8re canadienne.
