Des recherches r\u00e9centes ont montr\u00e9 que le s\u00e9quen\u00e7age g\u00e9nomique peut reconna\u00eetre les cancers lympho\u00efdes particuliers qui sont ne sont pas gu\u00e9ris de nos jours, mais qui pourraient \u00eatre trait\u00e9s plus efficacement \u00e0 l\u2019aide de traitements personnalis\u00e9s. L&rsquo;\u00e9quipe de recherche, dirig\u00e9e par les Drs Joseph Connors, Marco Marra et Randy Gascoyne, appliquera le s\u00e9quen\u00e7age g\u00e9n\u00e9tique aux cancers lympho\u00efdes \u2013 le type de cancer qui se classe au quatri\u00e8me rang des cancers les plus courants. Cette recherche pourrait accro\u00eetre de 20 % le taux de gu\u00e9rison de plusieurs cancers lympho\u00efdes, ce qui veut dire 40 vies sauv\u00e9es annuellement en Colombie- Britannique, jusqu\u2019\u00e0 2,5 millions de dollars en \u00e9conomies pour le syst\u00e8me de sant\u00e9 provincial seulement et un nombre incalculable de dollars r\u00e9cup\u00e9r\u00e9s par suite des r\u00e9percussions de la maladie, par exemple les jours de travail manqu\u00e9es et la souffrance de la famille.
