Comme ce proc\u00e9d\u00e9 n\u00e9cessite l\u2019introduction d\u2019un organe \u00e9tranger dans le corps d\u2019un receveur, le syst\u00e8me immunitaire de ce dernier peut r\u00e9agir au nouvel organe. Ironiquement, les cellules immunitaires qui prot\u00e8gent le patient en reconnaissant, en attaquant et en d\u00e9truisant les antig\u00e8nes comme ceux des microbes, peuvent entra\u00eener le rejet et le mauvais fonctionnement de l\u2019organe m\u00eame qui devait sauver la vie du patient.<\/p>\n<p>Les individus r\u00e9agissent diff\u00e9remment \u00e0 la th\u00e9rapie immunosuppressive. Les chercheurs du projet Biomarqueurs am\u00e9lior\u00e9s du rejet aigu et chronique des greffes allog\u00e9niques utiliseront les outils de g\u00e9nomique, de prot\u00e9omique et de bioinformatique les plus avanc\u00e9s pour mieux comprendre cette variation, afin de produire un test exact, peu co\u00fbteux et non effractif qui permettra de d\u00e9terminer s\u2019il y a rejet, et \u00e0 quel fonctionnement de l\u2019organe transplant\u00e9 le patient peut s\u2019attendre. Cette recherche allie les connaissances d\u2019un grand nombre des meilleurs experts du Canada en immunologie des transplantations, en pathologie, en biochimie, en statistique, en informatique et en soins cliniques. L\u2019\u00e9quipe de recherche axera en particulier ses travaux sur les patients qui ont eu des greffes du foie, du c\u0153ur ou des reins.<\/p>\n<p>La compr\u00e9hension des diverses r\u00e9actions des patients \u00e0 la th\u00e9rapie immunosuppressive aidera les m\u00e9decins et les infirmiers\/infirmi\u00e8res \u00e0 juger de la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 de la th\u00e9rapie, compte tenu de ses effets ind\u00e9sirables possibles. La th\u00e9rapie immunosuppressive personnalis\u00e9e ne fera pas que soulager le patient de l\u2019inconfort et des effets secondaires ind\u00e9sirables, elle r\u00e9duira \u00e9galement le fardeau \u00e9conomique \u00e9norme de la surprescription de m\u00e9dicaments immunosuppresseurs.
