Tony Pawson, directeur du Samuel Lunenfeld Research Institute \u00e0 l\u2019h\u00f4pital Mount Sinai de Toronto, l\u2019une des cl\u00e9s de la compr\u00e9hension de maladies comme le cancer r\u00e9side dans la recherche sur les changements dynamiques qui surviennent dans le r\u00e9seau d\u2019interactions prot\u00e9iques des cellules. M. Pawson, son coll\u00e8gue et biologiste mol\u00e9culaire M. Jeff Wrana, et le biochimiste Shawn Li de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Western Ontario sont les directeurs du projet Le dynactome : cartographie des syst\u00e8mes spatiotemporels dynamiques chez les humains.<\/p>\n<p style=\"width:101%\">L\u2019\u00e9quipe du projet dressera une carte des interactions prot\u00e9iques dans les cellules humaines pour d\u00e9terminer si des maladies comme les cancers malins d\u00e9coulent non seulement de changements sp\u00e9cifiques de g\u00e8nes et de prot\u00e9ines pr\u00e9cis, mais \u00e9galement de changements dans tout le r\u00e9seau cellulaire. Il devrait permettre de mettre au point de nouvelles technologies prot\u00e9omiques et computationnelles, de m\u00eame que des th\u00e9rapies novatrices de lutte contre le cancer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"width:101%\">(En anglais seulement)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Integrated GE<sup>3<\/sup>LS Research:<\/strong> Ethical issues and guidelines relating to the crossjurisdictional use of human tissues and genetic information<br \/>\n<strong>GE<sup>3<\/sup>LS Project Leaders: <\/strong>Kerry Bowman, Mount Sinai Hospital<\/p>\n<p><u>Summary<\/u><\/p>\n<p>The GE<sup>3<\/sup>LS project team is examining ethical questions relating to the use of human tissues and genetic information, and ensuring confidentiality and protection of research subjects\u2019 privacy. A critical review of consent documents from China, and evaluation of conformity with Canadian laws and guidelines set forth in Canada\u2019s Tri-Council Policy Statement, Ethical Guidelines for Research involving Humans, as well as international guidelines (e.g., International Ethical Guidelines for Biomedical Research Involving Human Subjects (Council for International Organizations of Medical Sciences\/World Health Organization) and the Declaration of Helsinki (World Medical Association)) will be performed. Where nonconformities exist, the team will develop and implement an enhanced consent form for future donors to the biobank from which this project obtains its human tissue samples.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In addition, international research guidelines, including those mentioned above, will be assessed with respect to how they address biobanking studies, culminating in a review that details ways that genomics and proteomics researchers can deal with different international research guidelines in this area. The finished product will examine topics such as informed consent, standards for external review, recruitment of participants, and cultural challenges related to consent. The assessment will uncover where these guidelines are uniform and where they diverge, and highlight problems associated with this in relation to international research, particularly with the \u2018Dynactome\u2019 project.
