L\u2019analyse des chromosomes des cellules canc\u00e9reuses est actuellement le meilleur moyen de d\u00e9terminer le pronostic des patients. Malheureusement, environ 45 % des patients test\u00e9s ne montrent aucune anomalie, ce qui n\u2019aide gu\u00e8re les m\u00e9decins \u00e0 orienter leurs traitements. Des progr\u00e8s r\u00e9cents du s\u00e9quen\u00e7age de l&rsquo;ADN permettent toutefois une analyse plus compl\u00e8te de ces tumeurs.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019\u00e9quipe, dirig\u00e9e par les D<sup>rs<\/sup> Guy Sauvageau et Jos\u00e9e H\u00e9bert, utilisera l&rsquo;ADN personnalis\u00e9 des patients pour d\u00e9terminer la fa\u00e7on de les traiter en fonction de la composition g\u00e9n\u00e9tique sp\u00e9cifique de leurs tumeurs. Ces travaux am\u00e9lioreront le diagnostic et les r\u00e9sultats pour les patients. L&rsquo;\u00e9quipe \u00e9laborera \u00e9galement de nouveaux mod\u00e8les pour suivre les cellules canc\u00e9reuses qui subsistent apr\u00e8s le traitement. Ces cellules souches canc\u00e9reuses peuvent se multiplier au fil du temps et entra\u00eener une r\u00e9cidive.
