Il reste cependant une t\u00e2che \u00e9norme \u00e0 accomplir, soit trouver des moyens de traduire les connaissances de la g\u00e9nomique en applications qui am\u00e9lioreront la sant\u00e9 humaine.<\/p>\n<p>Timothy Caulfield, directeur de la recherche au Health Law Institute de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de l\u2019Alberta, et M<sup>me<\/sup> Edna Einsiedel, professeure de communication et de culture \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Calgary, sont les directeurs du projet Traduire la science : g\u00e9nomique et syst\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Le projet a pour objet de comprendre comment les technologies de la g\u00e9nomique sont traduites et utilis\u00e9es dans les syst\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9; les enjeux sociaux, \u00e9thiques et juridiques que font na\u00eetre ces processus, et les approches qui peuvent \u00eatre adopt\u00e9es pour vaincre les difficult\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>Selon les directeurs de projet, le projet portera sur trois enjeux interd\u00e9pendants. Les brevets et les autres formes de droits de propri\u00e9t\u00e9 intellectuelle ont compliqu\u00e9 l\u2019application et l\u2019utilisation des innovations en g\u00e9nomique, qu\u2019il s\u2019agisse des syst\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9 publics, de collectivit\u00e9s d\u00e9favoris\u00e9es dans des pays en d\u00e9veloppement ou de collectivit\u00e9s indig\u00e8nes.<\/p>\n<p>La capacit\u00e9 de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 d\u2019approfondir et d\u2019utiliser les connaissances de la g\u00e9nomique d\u00e9pend des fa\u00e7ons dont les personnes et les groupes per\u00e7oivent les risques, les avantages et les enjeux \u00e9thiques li\u00e9s aux technologies de la g\u00e9nomique. Finalement, l\u2019int\u00e9gration des technologies de la g\u00e9nomique aux syst\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9 a d\u2019importantes r\u00e9percussions sur la gouvernance \u2013 c\u2019est\u00ad\u00e0\u00addire la fa\u00e7on dont les d\u00e9cisions sont prises, les intervenants, les int\u00e9r\u00eats et les crit\u00e8res qui sont pris en consid\u00e9ration, de m\u00eame que la responsabilit\u00e9 ultime des d\u00e9cideurs.<\/p>\n<p>Le projet Traduire la science : g\u00e9nomique et syst\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9 devrait nous aider \u00e0 mieux comprendre comment l\u2019information de la g\u00e9nomique peut contribuer \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer la sant\u00e9 humaine.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Projet GE3LS grande \u00e9chelle autonome.
