Compte tenu de l\u2019expansion et la mise en valeur de l\u2019aquaculture des salmonid\u00e9s au Canada, il est important de r\u00e9duire au minimum les effets des poissons d\u2019\u00e9levage sur les populations de poissons sauvages.<\/p>\n<p>Le poisson d\u2019\u00e9levage doit mieux r\u00e9sister \u00e0 la maladie et \u00eatre mieux adapt\u00e9 \u00e0 son environnement et le poisson sauvage, quant \u00e0 lui, doit \u00eatre mieux compris et dans certains cas, g\u00e9r\u00e9. M. Ben Koop, directeur du Centre for Biomedical Research de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Victoria, M. William Davidson, microbiologiste sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9 en \u00e9volution mol\u00e9culaire \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Simon Fraser, et M. Stig Omholt, professeur au Norway\u2019s Centre for Integrative Genetics, sont les directeurs du projet cGRASP \u2013 Consortium de recherche en g\u00e9nomique sur tous les salmonid\u00e9s, qui fait suite au pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent projet extr\u00eamement fructueux de Recherche en g\u00e9nomique sur le saumon de l\u2019Atlantique, \u00e9galement financ\u00e9 par G\u00e9nome Canada.<\/p>\n<p>Les salmonid\u00e9s ont chang\u00e9 au fil de leur \u00e9volution. Le saumon du Pacifique, la truite, le cor\u00e9gone et l\u2019omble se sont peut-\u00eatre diff\u00e9renci\u00e9s du saumon de l\u2019Atlantique il y a 10 \u00e0 20 millions d\u2019ann\u00e9es. Les salmonid\u00e9s demeurent cependant de nos jours tr\u00e8s semblables sur le plan g\u00e9n\u00e9tique. cGRASP \u00e9largira les outils de recherche existants en g\u00e9nomique du saumon de l\u2019Atlantique (<em>Salmo salar<\/em>) et la truite arc-en-ciel (<em>Oncorhynchus mykiss<\/em>), et accro\u00eetra ainsi la base de connaissances sur ces esp\u00e8ces, notamment la cartographie g\u00e9n\u00e9tique et l\u2019identification des g\u00e8nes. Ces ressources seront ensuite appliqu\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019omble de fontaine (<em>Salvelinus fontinalis, <\/em>aussi appel\u00e9e \u00ab truite de mer \u00bb) et l\u2019\u00e9perlan (petit poisson argent\u00e9 qui migre de l\u2019eau sal\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019eau douce pour frayer).<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019information obtenue gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ce projet devrait aboutir \u00e0 des avantages pratiques pour la production des salmonid\u00e9s en aquaculture, tout en fournissant une base rigoureuse de donn\u00e9es pour la gestion des stocks de poissons sauvages. Un volet important du projet consistera \u00e0 \u00e9tudier les enjeux de la g\u00e9nomique des salmonid\u00e9s li\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9thique, \u00e0 l\u2019environnement, \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9conomie, au droit et \u00e0 la soci\u00e9t\u00e9, en collaboration avec le projet \u00c9dification d\u2019une architecture GE\u00b3DS, dirig\u00e9 par M. Michael M. Burgess, de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de la Colombie-Britannique.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: sans-serif, Arial, Verdana, 'Trebuchet MS'; font-size: 13px; line-height: 20.8px;\"><strong>(En anglais seulement)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Integrated GE<sup>3<\/sup>LS Research<\/strong>: GE3LS &amp; Public Engagement<br \/>\n<strong>GE<sup>3<\/sup>LS Project Leaders:<\/strong> Patricia Gallagher, Simon Fraser University and Michael Burgess, University of British Columbia<\/p>\n<p><u>Summary<\/u><br \/>\nTo address the ethical, economic, and social issues of the scientific research, cGRASP researchers will collaborate with Patricia Gallaugher at SFU\u2019s Centre for Coastal Studies and the W. Maurice Young Centre for Applied Ethics at UBC. The Centre for Coastal Studies hosts science-based workshops with a focus on sound policy for sustainable resource management. cGRASP will co-sponsor a series of \u2018Speaking for the Salmon\u2019 workshops in various locations to discuss the management of wild salmon for conservation and protection of biodiversity.<\/p>\n<p>The cGRASP researchers will also work with the UBC team to help understand how people incorporate world views and norms to make moral decisions about a policy.
