De subtiles diff\u00e9rences dans la r\u00e9gulation des g\u00e8nes d\u2019un individu \u00e0 l\u2019autre peuvent entra\u00eener la susceptibilit\u00e9 ou la r\u00e9sistance \u00e0 la maladie. Ces diff\u00e9rences ne sont toutefois pas encore tr\u00e8s bien comprises. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height:15.6pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">L\u2019\u00e9quipe du projet GRID : r\u00e9gulateurs des g\u00e8nes dans la maladie, ne cherchera pas \u00e0 identifier de nouveaux g\u00e8nes. Elle \u00e9tudiera plut\u00f4t les m\u00e9canismes r\u00e9gulateurs dans les maladies humaines courantes, par exemple la production, l\u2019assemblage et le renouvellement de g\u00e8nes anormaux. Elle caract\u00e9risera plus de 250 g\u00e8nes pathologiques qu\u2019on croit li\u00e9s au diab\u00e8te, \u00e0 l\u2019asthme, aux maladies inflammatoires et \u00e0 certaines formes du cancer. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height:15.6pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">L\u2019\u00e9quipe pr\u00e9voit identifier une cascade d\u2019\u00e9tapes biologiques amorc\u00e9es par les m\u00e9canismes r\u00e9gulateurs dans 25 g\u00e8nes qui modifient le risque \u00e0 la maladie. Le projet examinera la r\u00e9gulation des g\u00e8nes chez une race de souris transg\u00e9niques mise au point \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 McGill, en collaboration avec Nucleis SA, une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 fran\u00e7aise. Nucleis construira un laboratoire de biotechnologie nord\u00adam\u00e9ricain \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al et formera un personnel hautement qualifi\u00e9 pour travailler dans ce domaine. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height:15.6pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">L\u2019\u00e9quipe du projet collaborera \u00e9galement avec d\u2019autres centres biom\u00e9dicaux et pharmaceutiques canadiens. En d\u00e9terminant les \u00e9tapes biologiques amorc\u00e9es par les m\u00e9canismes r\u00e9gulateurs, l\u2019\u00e9quipe de recherche esp\u00e8re mieux comprendre comment le risque de maladie est modifi\u00e9. Ces r\u00e9sultats devraient ouvrir la voie \u00e0 de nouveaux traitements et produits de sant\u00e9. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height:15.6pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">En m\u00eame temps, l\u2019\u00e9quipe \u00e9tudiera les r\u00e9percussions et les aspects \u00e9thiques de cette recherche, afin d\u2019\u00e9laborer un cadre pertinent pour ce projet et ceux qui suivront.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height:15.6pt\">(En anglais seulement.)<\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height:15.6pt\"><strong>Integrated GE<sup><font size=\"2\">3<\/font><\/sup>LS Research<\/strong>: Commercialization issues inherent to Public-Private partnerships<br \/>\n<strong>GE<sup><font size=\"2\">3<\/font><\/sup>LS Project Leaders<\/strong>: Bartha M. Knoppers, Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al<br \/>\n<u>Summary<\/u><br \/>\nLarge scale projects such as the Gene Regulators in Disease (\u201cGRID\u201d) project promise important benefits, but also raise commercialisation issues inherent in such public private partnerships, including:&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"line-height: 15.6pt;\">conflicts of interest and research integrity;<\/li>\n<li style=\"line-height: 15.6pt;\">confidentiality and open science; and<\/li>\n<li style=\"line-height: 15.6pt;\">research exemption to patents.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"line-height: 15.6pt;\">This integrated GE3LS project will examine such issues from ethical,&nbsp;&nbsp;legal and social perspectives. The project seeks to address which strategies should be adopted to reduce possible adverse impact of commercialisation on genetic research, how such strategies should be implemented and how they might possibly be applied to other types of research,&nbsp;in order to maximize potential benefits to society.<\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height:15.6pt\">Anticipated outcomes of this integrated GE<sup><font size=\"2\">3<\/font><\/sup>LS project include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"line-height: 15.6pt;\">providing guidance to partners of the GRID project to enable fruitful collaboration and help maximize economic, scientific and social benefits;<\/li>\n<li style=\"line-height: 15.6pt;\">publishing policy documents for future academic-industry collaborations;<\/li>\n<li style=\"line-height: 15.6pt;\">writing articles on all of the three selected issues (conflicts of interest, confidentiality and research exemption) and presenting at national and international conferences to disseminate research findings; and<\/li>\n<li style=\"line-height: 15.6pt;\">archiving research outputs on the HUMGEN website and IPGen portal<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>La r\u00e9gulation des g\u00e8nes est le processus de l\u2019ADN et des interactions des prot\u00e9ines dans un g\u00e8ne qui d\u00e9termine o\u00f9 et comment le g\u00e8ne sera activ\u00e9.
