Ces ensembles de donn\u00e9es sont cependant trop volumineux et complexes pour \u00eatre utiles par eux-m\u00eames. Les chercheurs doivent d\u2019abord analyser et interpr\u00e9ter les donn\u00e9es biologiques pour mieux les comprendre et les transformer en une information utile. Celle-ci peut ensuite \u00eatre utilis\u00e9e pour aider \u00e0 r\u00e9soudre des probl\u00e8mes concrets, par exemple \u00e9laborer de nouveaux outils ou de nouvelles strat\u00e9gies pour mieux diagnostiquer et traiter les patients, accro\u00eetre les rendements des cultures ou surveiller l\u2019environnement. De plus en plus, la capacit\u00e9 de l\u2019utilisateur final\u00a0 d\u2019interpr\u00e9ter les donn\u00e9es est le principal facteur qui emp\u00eache les chercheurs de d\u00e9couvrir plus rapidement des solutions indispensables.<\/p>\n<p>Paul C. Boutros, Ph.\u00a0D., de l\u2019Institut ontarien de recherche sur le cancer dirige une \u00e9quipe qui cherche des moyens de rendre les r\u00e9sultats des \u00ab\u00a0m\u00e9gadonn\u00e9es\u00a0\u00bb plus faciles \u00e0 comprendre en en am\u00e9liorant la visualisation et l\u2019interpr\u00e9tation. L\u2019\u00e9quipe cr\u00e9era des outils interactifs de visualisation qui s\u2019int\u00e9greront \u00e9troitement aux bases de donn\u00e9es que les chercheurs ont d\u00e9j\u00e0 l\u2019habitude d\u2019utiliser. L\u2019\u00e9quipe utilisera l\u2019externalisation ouverte pour obtenir les meilleures id\u00e9es de visualisation aupr\u00e8s d\u2019une large communaut\u00e9 de chercheurs, de graphistes et de citoyens scientifiques.
