Malheureusement, les traitements demeurent plut\u00f4t archa\u00efques, car les traitements g\u00e9n\u00e9ralis\u00e9s datent de d\u00e9cennies, peuvent \u00eatre hautement toxiques et ne tiennent pas compte des diff\u00e9rences g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques subtiles de la maladie d\u2019un patient \u00e0 l\u2019autre. Charles Boone et son \u00e9quipe de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Toronto veulent changer cette situation par l\u2019invention d\u2019AbSyn, une nouvelle technologie qui combinera le g\u00e9nie avanc\u00e9 d\u2019une cat\u00e9gorie de prot\u00e9ines appel\u00e9es anticorps et le criblage g\u00e9n\u00e9tique pour d\u00e9terminer des polyth\u00e9rapies adapt\u00e9es \u00e0 des cancers individuels.<\/p>\n<p>La promesse d\u2019un traitement aux anticorps a \u00e9t\u00e9 immens\u00e9ment sous-exploit\u00e9e parce que nous ne parvenons pas \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper de nouveaux anticorps et que le cancer est incroyablement complexe. La technologie AbSyn abordera ces probl\u00e8mes en alliant nos comp\u00e9tences sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9es uniques pour la production d\u2019anticorps (Ab) et l\u2019\u00e9lucidation des r\u00e9seaux g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques afin de produire des polyth\u00e9rapies ou th\u00e9rapies synergiques (Syn) contre le cancer. AbSyn exploitera les pistes mises au jour dans un projet pr\u00e9c\u00e9demment financ\u00e9 par G\u00e9nome Canada, dont un grand nombre devaient \u00eatre tri\u00e9es pour en faire ensuite des m\u00e9dicaments utiles.
