L\u2019observation h\u00e2tive de ces biomarqueurs nous permettrait de reconna\u00eetre rapidement les maladies, m\u00eame avant qu\u2019elles ne d\u00e9butent, et de commencer rapidement les traitements au moyen de th\u00e9rapies personnalis\u00e9es et cibl\u00e9es ou m\u00eame de pr\u00e9venir ces maladies. Le probl\u00e8me r\u00e9side dans le fait que les m\u00e9thodes actuelles de d\u00e9termination des biomarqueurs prennent g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement beaucoup de temps et co\u00fbtent cher, et ne sont pas assez sensibles pour rep\u00e9rer les biomarqueurs qui existent en concentrations extr\u00eamement faibles.<\/p>\n<p>Les appareils fond\u00e9s sur les nanopores \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tat solide, qui mesurent le courant \u00e9lectrique produit lorsqu\u2019une solution saline traverse un nanopore (un orifice extr\u00eamement petit) sous une tension appliqu\u00e9e, ont pendant longtemps \u00e9t\u00e9 consid\u00e9r\u00e9s comme une solution possible \u00e0 ces probl\u00e8mes. Chaque fois qu\u2019une mol\u00e9cule biologique individuelle (comme une prot\u00e9ine ou l\u2019ADN) traverse le pore, elle peut \u00eatre identifi\u00e9e avec exactitude par la quantit\u00e9 de courant qu\u2019elle bloque, un peu comme une personne pourrait identifier un objet par l\u2019ombre qu\u2019elle projette dans le faisceau d\u2019une lampe de poche. Malheureusement, ces appareils \u00e0 nanopores sont trop co\u00fbteux pour que leur usage soit r\u00e9pandu.<\/p>\n<p>Le laboratoire de M.\u00a0Tabard-Cossa, Ph.\u00a0D., a mis au point une technique pour fabriquer des appareils \u00e0 nanopores beaucoup plus rapidement et \u00e0 co\u00fbt beaucoup moins \u00e9lev\u00e9 que la technologie de pointe actuelle. Il pourra ainsi mettre au point des appareils \u00e0 nanopores \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tat solide int\u00e9gr\u00e9s dans des cartouches jetables dans des plateformes compactes offrant une capacit\u00e9 compl\u00e8te de r\u00e9ponse instantan\u00e9e. L\u2019utilisation de ces appareils r\u00e9volutionnerait la recherche en g\u00e9nomique et les soins de sant\u00e9 des patients parce qu\u2019on pourrait ainsi valider des biomarqueurs nouvellement identifi\u00e9s et mettre au point des tests de diagnostic rapides et \u00e9conomiques.
