Le nylon fabriqu\u00e9 au moyen de produits chimiques artificiels issus du sucre, qui exige moins d\u2019\u00e9nergie et engendre moins d\u2019\u00e9missions de gaz \u00e0 effet de serre, est tr\u00e8s en demande.<\/p>\n<p>BioAmber, une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 industrielle de biotechnologie situ\u00e9e \u00e0 Sarnia, en Ontario, fabrique avec succ\u00e8s l\u2019acide succinique (utilis\u00e9e dans la production de polym\u00e8res, de r\u00e9sines et de solvants) \u00e0 partir de coul\u00e9es de sucre, ce qui diminue consid\u00e9rablement l\u2019empreinte carbone. Les m\u00eames principes pourraient \u00eatre utilis\u00e9s pour mettre au point un proc\u00e9d\u00e9 de fabrication de l\u2019acide adipique, utilis\u00e9e dans la production du nylon.<\/p>\n<p>Une \u00e9quipe de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Toronto \u00e0 BioZone, dirig\u00e9e par Radhakrishnan Mahadevan, Ph.\u00a0D., a mis au point une m\u00e9thode de bio-ing\u00e9nierie bas\u00e9e sur la g\u00e9nomique pour transformer les sucres en produits chimiques industriels \u00e0 valeur ajout\u00e9e tels que l\u2019acide adipique. Cet acide a, lui seul, un march\u00e9 de\u00a02,2\u00a0millions de tonnes; les produits chimiques qui peuvent en \u00eatre issus ont des march\u00e9s aussi consid\u00e9rables. BioAmber, une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 industrielle de biotechnologie, est bien plac\u00e9e pour appliquer les r\u00e9sultats de ce programme de recherche \u00e0 la mise au point des produits chimiques de la prochaine g\u00e9n\u00e9ration.<\/p>\n<p>Les r\u00e9sultats de ces travaux profiteront \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9conomie canadienne parce qu\u2019ils feront prendre de l\u2019expansion \u00e0 l\u2019industrie du bioraffinage et cr\u00e9eront de nouveaux emplois dans la fabrication, tout en prot\u00e9geant l\u2019environnement par suite de la r\u00e9duction des gaz \u00e0 effet de serre et de la pollution.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Le nylon est actuellement fabriqu\u00e9 \u00e0 partir du p\u00e9trole.
