Les chercheurs utilisent des mod\u00e8les murins pour \u00e9valuer l\u2019impact de ces mutations, mais ils doivent avoir acc\u00e8s \u00e0 des services d\u2019avant-garde pour rendre leurs recherches possibles. Depuis 2007, le Centre for Phenogenomics (TCP) assure ces services, con\u00e7oit et produit des mod\u00e8les murins sur mesure, d\u00e9termine les cons\u00e9quences fonctionnelles des anomalies g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques, valide un ph\u00e9notype (\u00ab\u00a0caract\u00e9ristiques observables d\u00e9coulant d\u2019une mutation\u00a0\u00bb) comparable \u00e0 un trouble humain et recherche les voies mol\u00e9culaires sous-jacentes. Le Centre appuie \u00e9galement les services translationnels pour inverser l\u2019effet de ces mutations par des m\u00e9thodes g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques ou pharmaceutiques. Au cours des cinq derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, le TCP a assur\u00e9 plus de 40\u00a0000\u00a0services \u00e0 615\u00a0clients, g\u00e9n\u00e9rant des revenus de quelque 13\u00a0millions de dollars. Un comit\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9valuation de la Fondation canadienne pour l\u2019innovation a qualifi\u00e9 le TCP de \u00ab\u00a0meilleure installation du genre au Canada et [\u2026] parmi les cinq meilleures au monde\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Le TCP rassemble une masse critique canadienne exceptionnelle d\u2019infrastructures, d\u2019expertise, d\u2019interactions et de technologies. Au cours des cinq prochaines ann\u00e9es, le Centre \u00e9tendra ses services de recherche aux maladies infectieuses et aux troubles inflammatoires qui, dans les deux cas, sont des fardeaux courants et importants de la sant\u00e9 et de l\u2019\u00e9conomie canadiennes. Pour appuyer les efforts des chercheurs canadiens qui veulent comprendre la fonction des g\u00e8nes et des changements g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques qui causent des maladies, le TCP offrira aux chercheurs canadiens un acc\u00e8s in\u00e9gal\u00e9 \u00e0 des services g\u00e9nomiques d\u2019avant-garde pour la production et l\u2019\u00e9valuation de mod\u00e8les de maladies.
