La soci\u00e9t\u00e9 collabore avec l\u2019Universit\u00e9 McMaster, M.\u00a0Michael Surette, Ph. D. et son \u00e9quipe pour explorer syst\u00e9matiquement le microbiome humain, la collection de microbes qui colonisent le corps, \u00e0 la recherche de compos\u00e9s qui peuvent servir \u00e0 traiter des maladies humaines.<\/p>\n<p>Le microbiome contient environ 100 fois autant de g\u00e8nes que le g\u00e9nome humain, comme on l\u2019a d\u00e9montr\u00e9 pour produire des antibiotiques, des vitamines, des acides gras, des neurotransmetteurs tels que la s\u00e9rotonine, l\u2019histamine et l\u2019ac\u00e9thycoline, et des immunomodulateurs. Ainsi, le microbiome peut influencer le syst\u00e8me nerveux, inhiber la croissance d\u2019agents pathog\u00e8nes et moduler la r\u00e9action immunitaire aux agents pathog\u00e8nes envahissants. Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 montr\u00e9 que la dysr\u00e9gulation du microbiome jouait un r\u00f4le dans la maladie intestinale inflammatoire, le cancer et des troubles neurologiques et qu\u2019elle peut influencer les r\u00e9actions individuelles aux immunoth\u00e9rapies.<\/p>\n<p>M.\u00a0Surette et Adapsyn Bioscience se concentrent sur les microbes responsables des effets immunologiques du microbiome. Leurs travaux m\u00e8neront \u00e0 la m\u00e9decine personnalis\u00e9e, bas\u00e9e sur la composition du microbiome et \u00e0 de nouveaux traitements des maladies inflammatoires et du cancer.
