Il est cependant plus difficile de traiter et d\u2019interpr\u00e9ter ces donn\u00e9es sous une forme coh\u00e9rente que de les recueillir. La caract\u00e9risation des g\u00e8nes d\u2019une esp\u00e8ce donn\u00e9e joue un r\u00f4le indispensable dans l\u2019interpr\u00e9tation. Par exemple, la pr\u00e9sence de certains g\u00e8nes dans un g\u00e9nome donn\u00e9 peut renseigner sur la qualit\u00e9 du bois des produits forestiers locaux ou donner une id\u00e9e des mod\u00e8les infectieux d\u2019un agent pathog\u00e8ne dans la cha\u00eene alimentaire. L\u2019identification et l\u2019annotation exhaustives et exactes des g\u00e8nes d\u00e9pendent toutefois de l\u2019int\u00e9gralit\u00e9 et de l\u2019exactitude de l\u2019information sous-jacente.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019utilit\u00e9 des donn\u00e9es g\u00e9nomiques et transcriptomiques d\u00e9pend de deux facteurs : la conception de l\u2019exp\u00e9rimentation et les m\u00e9thodes d\u2019analyse utilis\u00e9es. La conception de l\u2019exp\u00e9rimentation est bien d\u00e9finie; Inanc Birol, Ph. D., du BC Cancer Agency se concentre sur les m\u00e9thodes d\u2019analyse, un aspect encore difficile. Son \u00e9quipe et lui veulent cr\u00e9er des m\u00e9thodes qui am\u00e9lioreront la qualit\u00e9 des g\u00e9nomes et des transcriptomes assembl\u00e9s en d\u00e9tectant les s\u00e9quences mal assembl\u00e9es. Ils mettront \u00e9galement au point des outils et des ressources qui faciliteront l\u2019annotation des g\u00e8nes et en pr\u00e9diront la fonction. Ils cr\u00e9eront de plus des outils de visualisation pour \u00e9valuer la qualit\u00e9 des assemblages et leurs annotations connexes.<\/p>\n<p>Les outils seront mis \u00e0 la disposition des chercheurs par le truchement du portail de logiciels de M.
