Ces produits chimiques, appel\u00e9s m\u00e9tabolites, participent \u00e0 des processus biologiques cl\u00e9s chez les humains et d\u2019autres grands organismes. La m\u00e9tabolomique est la discipline scientifique qui permet aux chercheurs de mesurer ces petites mol\u00e9cules \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle. Elle peut r\u00e9v\u00e9ler des mol\u00e9cules qui interviennent dans des maladies, produire des tests diagnostiques et pronostiques et pr\u00e9dire comment les patients r\u00e9agiront \u00e0 des m\u00e9dicaments d\u2019ordonnance pr\u00e9cis. On a beaucoup fait avec les outils informatiques actuellement utilis\u00e9s qui ne peuvent identifier qu\u2019une petite fraction des m\u00e9tabolites dans un \u00e9chantillon. De meilleurs outils informatiques qui pourraient identifier les autres m\u00e9tabolites acc\u00e9l\u00e9reraient de fa\u00e7on spectaculaire le rythme de la recherche en m\u00e9tabolomique.<\/p>\n<p>Leonard Foster, Ph. D., de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de la Colombie-Britannique et David Wishart, Ph. D., de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de l\u2019Alberta mettent au point des outils informatiques bas\u00e9s sur une technique d\u2019intelligence artificielle appel\u00e9e \u00ab apprentissage profond \u00bb pour traiter l\u2019immense volume de donn\u00e9es produit par les exp\u00e9riences en m\u00e9tabolomique. Le premier outil, DeepMet, augmentera le nombre de mol\u00e9cules qui peuvent \u00eatre identifi\u00e9es dans des exp\u00e9riences en m\u00e9tabolomique. Le deuxi\u00e8me, MetUnknown, aidera \u00e0 attribuer des structures chimiques \u00e0 des mol\u00e9cules encore inconnues. Ensemble, ces outils aideront \u00e0 mieux comprendre la majeure partie du m\u00e9tabolome n\u00e9glig\u00e9e par les outils actuels.<\/p>\n<p>DeepMet et MetUnknown seront offerts dans trois formats diff\u00e9rents pour que les chercheurs de diff\u00e9rents domaines puissent les utiliser sans formation sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9e.
