Il est essentiel de combler cette lacune pour concr\u00e9tiser les promesses de la m\u00e9decine de pr\u00e9cision.<\/p>\n<p>Charles Boone, Ph. D., Brenda Andrews, Ph. D., du Donnelly Centre for Cellular and Biomolecular Research de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Toronto et Chad Myers, Ph. D., de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 du Minnesota ont d\u00e9couvert, en collaborant, qu\u2019une part importante de notre incapacit\u00e9 \u00e0 interpr\u00e9ter les donn\u00e9es g\u00e9nomiques d\u00e9coule probablement du fait av\u00e9r\u00e9 que les maladies d\u00e9coulent g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement d\u2019interactions g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques complexes. M\u00eame si tous les humains ont essentiellement le m\u00eame ensemble de g\u00e8nes, la plupart ont environ cinq millions de variantes g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques uniques. L\u2019effet d\u2019une variante, quelle qu\u2019elle soit, d\u00e9pend de ses interactions avec les autres. Il nous faut donc comprendre non seulement les millions de diff\u00e9rences g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques qui influencent la fonction d\u2019un g\u00e8ne, mais aussi les interactions de tous ces g\u00e8nes les uns avec les autres. Les m\u00e9thodes et les technologies informatiques actuelles n\u2019ont pas la puissance statistique de le faire.<\/p>\n<p>Les trois chercheurs ont \u00e9tabli la premi\u00e8re carte compl\u00e8te des interactions g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques de n\u2019importe quel organisme et b\u00e2ti une m\u00e9thode informatique, BridGE, pour d\u00e9couvrir des interactions g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques. Ils travaillent maintenant \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9laboration d\u2019une plateforme informatique novatrice pour les donn\u00e9es de s\u00e9quen\u00e7age g\u00e9nomique, BridGE-SGA, qui permettra de d\u00e9couvrir des interactions g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques associ\u00e9es \u00e0 des maladies \u00e0 partir de donn\u00e9es g\u00e9notypiques humaines \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle. Les chercheurs veulent ainsi d\u00e9couvrir les interactions g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques de diverses maladies.
