Les outils bio-informatiques et informatiques sont essentiels \u00e0 la visualisation et \u00e0 l\u2019analyse des donn\u00e9es g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques, mais ils ne permettent pas d\u2019effectuer des analyses tridimensionnelles (3D) de la fa\u00e7on dont l\u2019ADN se replie sur lui-m\u00eame pour se nicher dans le noyau, ce qui constitue son architecture de la chromatine. Cette structure 3D d\u00e9finit le fonctionnement normal du g\u00e9nome durant les premi\u00e8res \u00e9tapes de la diff\u00e9renciation cellulaire et du d\u00e9veloppement, et elle est reconnue pour provoquer de nombreuses anomalies du d\u00e9veloppement, ainsi que le cancer.<\/p>\n<p>Les chercheurs ont un besoin pressant d\u2019avoir acc\u00e8s \u00e0 des outils informatiques de nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration qui int\u00e9greraient nos connaissances de ces \u00e9tats tridimensionnels et leur permettraient d\u2019utiliser de fa\u00e7on optimale les quantit\u00e9s en croissance rapide de donn\u00e9es produites par le s\u00e9quen\u00e7age moderne de l\u2019ADN. Mathieu Blanchette, Ph. D., et son \u00e9quipe de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 McGill cr\u00e9eront et mettront sur le march\u00e9 des outils informatiques et statistiques am\u00e9lior\u00e9s pour l\u2019analyse des donn\u00e9es 3D dans leur contexte 3D originaire. Leurs nouveaux outils seront int\u00e9gr\u00e9s \u00e0 la plateforme de visualisation 3D de l\u2019\u00e9quipe et aideront les scientifiques \u00e0 explorer les donn\u00e9es, \u00e0 avancer de nouvelles hypoth\u00e8ses et \u00e0 mettre ces derni\u00e8res \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9preuve dans des cadres de travail statistique rigoureux.<\/p>\n<p>Les r\u00e9sultats de ce projet seront rendus largement accessibles par le biais d\u2019un logiciel ouvert qui permettra d\u2019effectuer des analyses statistiquement fiables de donn\u00e9es g\u00e9nomiques 3D individuelles et regroup\u00e9es, qui fournira un visualisateur g\u00e9nomique 3D fond\u00e9 sur la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 permettant une visualisation int\u00e9gr\u00e9e des donn\u00e9es g\u00e9nomiques, et qui comprendra une trousse d\u2019outils pour l\u2019exploration int\u00e9gr\u00e9e des donn\u00e9es g\u00e9nomiques et \u00e9pig\u00e9nomiques dans leur contexte 3D au sein du g\u00e9nome.
