Malgr\u00e9 la corr\u00e9lation \u00e9tablie entre des changements g\u00e9n\u00e9raux du microbiome et une maladie ou la r\u00e9action \u00e0 des th\u00e9rapies, nous n\u2019avons pas de m\u00e9thode d\u2019\u00e9valuation rapide de l\u2019influence des m\u00e9dicaments et des compos\u00e9s sur des microbiomes individuels. La cr\u00e9ation d\u2019une plateforme de d\u00e9pistage rapide constituerait un outil novateur et efficace d\u2019examen de m\u00e9dicaments et de compos\u00e9s nouveaux et existants pour en conna\u00eetre l\u2019effet sur des microbiomes individuels. Cet outil permettrait de s\u00e9lectionner des compos\u00e9s dans le d\u00e9veloppement de m\u00e9dicaments qui induiraient les changements souhait\u00e9s dans le microbiome.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel Figeys, Ph. D., et son \u00e9quipe, \u00e0 la premi\u00e8re phase du concours, ont valid\u00e9 le principe de RapidAIM, un essai qui mesure les changements fonctionnels dans des microbiomes individuels apr\u00e8s l\u2019exposition \u00e0 des m\u00e9dicaments ou \u00e0 des compos\u00e9s. L\u2019\u00e9quipe d\u00e9veloppe actuellement des applications commerciales, entre autres un prototype \u00e0 haut rendement enti\u00e8rement automatis\u00e9 de la plateforme RapidAIM, de m\u00eame qu\u2019une plateforme d\u2019analyse bio-informatique, MetaLab. Le logiciel compl\u00e9mentaire cr\u00e9\u00e9 pour RapidAIM, METAMCI, \u00e9valuera rapidement les effets des m\u00e9dicaments\/compos\u00e9s dans des microbiomes individuels. L\u2019\u00e9quipe cr\u00e9era \u00e9galement une base de donn\u00e9es des interactions m\u00e9dicaments-microbiomes des compos\u00e9s approuv\u00e9s par la FDA et des compos\u00e9s nouveaux pour mettre \u00e0 l\u2019essai RapidAIM et METAMCI , en collaboration avec leurs partenaires industriels Biotagenics et Filament BioSolutions.<\/p>\n<p>La mise au point et la commercialisation de RapidAIM engendreront d\u2019importantes retomb\u00e9es \u00e9conomiques. Le produit permettra de trouver de nouveaux m\u00e9dicaments\/compos\u00e9s qui ciblent le microbiome, facilitera une mise au point clinique acc\u00e9l\u00e9r\u00e9e des m\u00e9dicaments candidats, pr\u00e9viendra les effets secondaires ind\u00e9sirables sur le microbiome des nouveaux produits th\u00e9rapeutiques et permettra de mieux comprendre les r\u00e9percussions sur le microbiome des produits th\u00e9rapeutiques actuellement utilis\u00e9s.
