Lorsque ces interactions d\u00e9rapent, il en r\u00e9sulte une maladie. En raison de la part de ces interactions dans les maladies, la compr\u00e9hension de leur fonctionnement est indispensable \u00e0 la recherche de cibles pour des interventions et \u00e0 la mise au point des m\u00e9dicaments connexes. \u00c0 la phase 1 du pr\u00e9sent concours, Igor Stagljar, Ph. D., de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Toronto et son \u00e9quipe ont mis au point une nouvelle m\u00e9thode d\u2019\u00e9tude des interactions IPP, appel\u00e9e SIMPL, acronyme qui veut dire essai d\u2019interaction prot\u00e9ine-prot\u00e9ine bas\u00e9 sur l\u2019int\u00e9ine divis\u00e9e, dont le rendement surpasse celui des m\u00e9thodes actuelles d\u2019\u00e9tude des IPP. Le chercheur et son \u00e9quipe proposent maintenant d\u2019approfondir la technologie SIMPL pour en faire un essai novateur en recherche biom\u00e9dicale en la combinant \u00e0 la spectrom\u00e9trie de masse pour en accro\u00eetre les capacit\u00e9s et faciliter une plateforme plus puissante et plus commode. L\u2019\u00e9quipe utilisera \u00e9galement SIMPL pour \u00e9tablir une cartographie g\u00e9n\u00e9rale des IPP en cause dans une maladie, en particulier le d\u00e9veloppement du cancer. Finalement, l\u2019\u00e9quipe utilisera la technologie SIMPL comme plateforme de s\u00e9lection des m\u00e9dicaments afin d\u2019identifier les produits chimiques qui peuvent cibler les IPP impliqu\u00e9es dans le d\u00e9veloppement du cancer. SIMPL sera une technologie de transformation pour l\u2019\u00e9tude de la g\u00e9nomique fonctionnelle. Elle remplacera les m\u00e9thodes actuelles d\u2019\u00e9tude des IPP, acc\u00e9l\u00e9rera notre compr\u00e9hension de la physiologie cellulaire et du d\u00e9veloppement des maladies, et permettra de conna\u00eetre de nouvelles th\u00e9rapies pour certaines maladies.
