Pour l\u2019instant, la priorit\u00e9 de la sant\u00e9 publique est de tester les personnes symptomatiques et les contacts \u00e9troits. Cette approche standard de soins tr\u00e8s valoris\u00e9e et valid\u00e9e ne permet toutefois pas d\u2019identifier rapidement les propagateurs pr\u00e9symptomatiques ou asymptomatiques du virus. Comme le virus SRAS-Cov-2 est tr\u00e8s contagieux, les difficult\u00e9s op\u00e9rationnelles rendent la d\u00e9tection et le confinement de la COVID-19 tr\u00e8s difficile au sein de la population canadienne. Le m\u00e9decin en chef du Canada a indiqu\u00e9 qu\u2019il \u00e9tait urgent d\u2019augmenter la capacit\u00e9 de d\u00e9pistage de la COVID-19, et les \u00e9pid\u00e9miologistes recommandent fortement d\u2019accro\u00eetre les capacit\u00e9s de tests pour guider les efforts collectifs de pr\u00e9vention des infections. L\u2019objectif global par de nombreuses mesures d\u2019att\u00e9nuation est de r\u00e9duire le taux de reproduction (valeur\u00a0R) de la COVID-19 \u00e0 moins d\u2019un.
