Ces approches analytiques sont essentielles dans le domaine de la g\u00e9nomique pour comprendre des donn\u00e9es autrement difficilement consultables. Le Canada dispose d\u2019une solide base en g\u00e9nomique, en bioinformatique et la biologie computationnelle soutenue en partie par les plateformes technologiques de g\u00e9nomique de G\u00e9nome Canada en Ontario, au Qu\u00e9bec et en Colombie-Britannique. L\u2019Alberta dispose d\u2019une expertise importante en g\u00e9nomique, transcriptomique et m\u00e9tabolomique, mais la capacit\u00e9 sous-jacente en bioinformatique et biologie computationnelle est moins bien d\u00e9finie, ce qui entra\u00eene des incoh\u00e9rences dans la communaut\u00e9 de recherche provinciale en ce qui concerne l\u2019analyse des grandes donn\u00e9es. En r\u00e9ponse aux consultations des parties concern\u00e9es dans toute la province, aux recommandations des \u00e9tablissements d\u2019enseignement sup\u00e9rieur et au soutien de la communaut\u00e9 \u00e9largie des chercheurs et des utilisateurs finaux, Genome Alberta a mis sur pied BioNet Alberta dans le cadre du Programme de partenariat sur les priorit\u00e9s r\u00e9gionales (PR3) de G\u00e9nome Canada. BioNet Alberta est une approche diversifi\u00e9e bas\u00e9e sur un r\u00e9seau pour renforcer les capacit\u00e9s provinciales dans le domaine de la bioinformatique et de la biologie computationnelle. Le r\u00e9seau est structur\u00e9 autour de quatre piliers cl\u00e9s\u00a0: 1)\u00a0gestion du r\u00e9seau, sensibilisation et \u00e9change de connaissances, 2)\u00a0formation et d\u00e9veloppement, (3)\u00a0solutions informatiques et d\u00e9veloppement d\u2019outils, et 4)\u00a0mise en \u0153uvre de la plateforme de services \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle de l\u2019Alberta. Cette approche \u00e0 plusieurs niveaux fournira une plateforme distribu\u00e9e pour d\u00e9velopper une communaut\u00e9 mieux structur\u00e9e en mati\u00e8re de g\u00e9nomique, de bioinformatique et de biologie computationnelle qui devrait renforcer les capacit\u00e9s de recherche et de d\u00e9veloppement. Le fait de favoriser les relations entre des groupes qui ne partagent pas de liens cr\u00e9era de nouvelles possibilit\u00e9s de collaboration qui am\u00e9lioreront le taux de r\u00e9ussite des chercheurs albertains aux concours nationaux de bioinformatique et de biologie computationnelle. En outre, le manque de stagiaires qualifi\u00e9s, comp\u00e9tents et \u00e0 l\u2019aise avec les approches bioinformatiques limite la capacit\u00e9 de la province actuellement. Des ateliers d\u00e9di\u00e9s et un soutien aux nouvelles possibilit\u00e9s de formation fourniront \u00e0 la prochaine g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de stagiaires albertains les outils n\u00e9cessaires dans un march\u00e9 du travail comp\u00e9titif en g\u00e9nomique et en bioinformatique. BioNet Alberta soutiendra \u00e9galement la mise en \u0153uvre et le d\u00e9ploiement de services de base en g\u00e9nomique et en bioinformatique \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle de l\u2019Alberta qui devraient \u00eatre essentiels au d\u00e9veloppement de l\u2019empreinte de la province dans ce cr\u00e9neau. Enfin, le d\u00e9veloppement d\u2019outils informatiques pouvant \u00eatre facilement adapt\u00e9s et adopt\u00e9s par les utilisateurs finaux dans la province permettra aux chercheurs de mieux tirer parti des investissements ant\u00e9rieurs en g\u00e9nomique et d\u2019obtenir de meilleurs r\u00e9sultats translationnels pour les secteurs albertains. Pour mettre en \u0153uvre la strat\u00e9gie de BioNet Alberta, Genome Alberta a \u00e9tabli des partenariats avec les entit\u00e9s gouvernementales provinciales (D\u00e9veloppement \u00e9conomique et Commerce, Alberta Innovates), les \u00e9tablissements d\u2019enseignement sup\u00e9rieur (universit\u00e9s de Calgary, de l\u2019Alberta et Lethbridge), les acteurs nationaux en bioinformatique et de biologie computationnelle (Canadian Bioinformatics Workshop, Compute Canada) et les utilisateurs finaux sectoriels en Alberta (Alberta Public Laboratories, Agriculture et Agroalimentaire Canada). Des discussions pr\u00e9liminaires sont en cours en vue de la cr\u00e9ation de nouveaux partenariats industriels dans les secteurs de l\u2019agriculture et des technologies de l\u2019information.
