L\u2019industrie du soya de qualit\u00e9 alimentaire de l\u2019Ontario est reconnue mondialement pour ses semences de haute qualit\u00e9. Dans un march\u00e9 de plus en plus concurrentiel, le facteur cl\u00e9 pour assurer le succ\u00e8s et l\u2019expansion continus de la production de soya de qualit\u00e9 alimentaire en Ontario est d\u2019augmenter le rendement des semences de nouveaux cultivars de qualit\u00e9 alimentaire, tout en am\u00e9liorant ou en conservant les caract\u00e9ristiques importantes de la composition des semences, comme la concentration en prot\u00e9ines. Malgr\u00e9 le succ\u00e8s du d\u00e9veloppement de cultivars de soya \u00e0 haut rendement \u00e0 l\u2019aide de m\u00e9thodes de s\u00e9lection classiques au cours des deux derni\u00e8res d\u00e9cennies, la concentration moyenne en prot\u00e9ines, de mani\u00e8re g\u00e9n\u00e9rale, a diminu\u00e9 dans les cultivars commerciaux au fil du temps, principalement en raison de la relation ph\u00e9notypique n\u00e9gative entre le rendement des semences et la teneur en prot\u00e9ines. Heureusement, les innovations et les technologies actuelles fond\u00e9es sur la g\u00e9nomique permettent d\u2019inverser cette corr\u00e9lation n\u00e9gative et d\u2019am\u00e9liorer encore plus la rentabilit\u00e9 de l\u2019industrie du soya de qualit\u00e9 alimentaire en Ontario. Cette collaboration entre le programme de s\u00e9lection du soya de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Guelph, campus de Ridgetown, et SeCan acc\u00e9l\u00e9rera le d\u00e9veloppement de cultivars de soya \u00e0 haut rendement dot\u00e9s de caract\u00e9ristiques \u00e0 valeur ajout\u00e9e et am\u00e9liorera le gain g\u00e9n\u00e9tique associ\u00e9 \u00e0 ces caract\u00e9ristiques cibles. Cet objectif sera atteint gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9laboration et \u00e0 la mise en \u0153uvre d\u2019outils g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques et g\u00e9nomiques et d\u2019une population in\u00e9dite de soya MAGIC (multiparentale et hautement recombinante) \u00e0 huit parents. Les r\u00e9sultats sp\u00e9cifiques \u00e0 atteindre dans les deux ann\u00e9es suivant l\u2019ach\u00e8vement du projet sont les suivants\u00a0: cultivars et germoplasme de soja de qualit\u00e9 alimentaire adapt\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019Ontario, avec un rendement accru et une meilleure qualit\u00e9 des semences, et outils de s\u00e9lection g\u00e9n\u00e9tique et g\u00e9nomique pour acc\u00e9l\u00e9rer le d\u00e9veloppement de nouveaux cultivars.
