Les changements climatiques et les pratiques de gestion foresti\u00e8re ont contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 une expansion in\u00e9gal\u00e9e du DPP. S\u00e9vissant initialement au centre de la Colombie-Britannique, le DPP s&rsquo;est r\u00e9pandu dans de nouveaux habitats en Alberta, notamment le pin gris. Cette esp\u00e8ce de la for\u00eat bor\u00e9ale s&rsquo;\u00e9tendant jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 l&rsquo;oc\u00e9an Atlantique, le DPP pourrait se propager de mani\u00e8re continue vers l&rsquo;est. Compte tenu de l&rsquo;importance du pin lodgepole et du pin gris pour l&rsquo;industrie foresti\u00e8re, de leur r\u00f4le central sur les \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes et de leur importance culturelle, il est urgent d&rsquo;am\u00e9liorer la r\u00e9silience des for\u00eats en rempla\u00e7ant les arbres tu\u00e9s par le DPP et de quantifier le risque potentiel de sa propagation vers l&rsquo;est.<\/p>\n<p>Dans le cadre de TRIA-FoR, nous adopterons une approche multidisciplinaire et int\u00e9grative de pointe pour d\u00e9velopper des connaissances, des outils et des cadres d&rsquo;application fond\u00e9s sur la g\u00e9nomique qui att\u00e9nuent le risque de l&rsquo;\u00e9pid\u00e9mie actuelle de dendroctone du pin ponderosa et am\u00e9liorent la r\u00e9silience des arbres face \u00e0 de nouvelles \u00e9pid\u00e9mies. Le risque et la r\u00e9silience seront \u00e9tudi\u00e9s dans le contexte des interactions entre le dendroctone du pin et le climat qui affectent la dynamique des populations de dendroctones, les dimensions humaines de la gestion des ressources foresti\u00e8res et les impacts sur les diverses communaut\u00e9s li\u00e9es aux for\u00eats \u00e0 risque.<\/p>\n<p>La recherche TRIA-FoR couvre trois objectifs primordiaux. (1) Am\u00e9liorer la r\u00e9silience g\u00e9n\u00e9tique du pin lodgepole face au DPP. Nous identifierons les marqueurs g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques qui permettent de pr\u00e9dire la r\u00e9silience au DPP chez le pin lodgepole et nous identifierons les traits qui contribuent \u00e0 la r\u00e9silience au DPP. Pour comprendre comment la r\u00e9silience g\u00e9n\u00e9tique se traduit en r\u00e9silience foresti\u00e8re, nous mod\u00e9liserons l&rsquo;impact de la plantation de pins lodgepole r\u00e9sistants au DPP sur les populations de DPP en voie d&rsquo;extinction. (2) Am\u00e9liorer l&rsquo;efficacit\u00e9 de l&rsquo;\u00e9valuation du risque de propagation du dendroctone du pin au nord et \u00e0 l&rsquo;est de la for\u00eat bor\u00e9ale en examinant les interactions DPP \u2013 h\u00f4te du pin \u2013 climat. Nous v\u00e9rifierons si les for\u00eats de pins gris situ\u00e9es \u00e0 l&rsquo;est de l&rsquo;Alberta peuvent abriter des populations de DPP, ou si l&rsquo;expansion des populations n\u00e9cessite l&rsquo;immigration de la zone hybride entre le pin lodgepole et le pin gris. En tandem, nous d\u00e9terminerons comment les temp\u00e9ratures d&rsquo;hivernage et les caract\u00e9ristiques des pins h\u00f4tes de ces habitats marginaux affectent le succ\u00e8s du DPP. (3) \u00c9laborer un cadre de sciences sociales pour la planification de la gestion des risques et le renforcement de la r\u00e9silience, qui puisse faciliter l&rsquo;adoption de pratiques ou de technologies fond\u00e9es sur la g\u00e9nomique. Nous \u00e9tudierons les aspects g\u00e9ographiques, sociologiques, \u00e9conomiques et politiques du risque li\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9pid\u00e9mie de DPP, en identifiant les facteurs qui influent sur la volont\u00e9 des parties prenantes d&rsquo;adopter des applications fond\u00e9es sur la g\u00e9nomique.
