Par exemple, de nombreuses formes de champignons ont des r\u00e9actions biochimiques naturelles susceptibles d\u2019\u00eatre utiles dans des applications industrielles, notamment la production de p\u00e2tes et papiers, d\u2019\u00e9thanol et de biodi\u00e9sel pour l\u2019\u00e9nergie, l\u2019alimentation humaine et l\u2019alimentation animale, de m\u00eame que divers autres usages. Ces microorganismes peuvent \u00eatre consid\u00e9r\u00e9s comme des \u00ab bior\u00e9acteurs \u00bb miniatures\u037e ils peuvent fonctionner \u00e0 des temp\u00e9ratures tr\u00e8s \u00e9lev\u00e9es et sans danger pour l\u2019environnement, ne produisant que des produits r\u00e9siduels naturels.<\/p>\n<p>Nous utilisons les m\u00e9thodes de la g\u00e9nomique pour identifier et \u00e9tudier un groupe choisi d\u2019enzymes fongiques en vue d\u2019applications environnementales et industrielles. Nous avons choisi 14 esp\u00e8ces diverses de champignons en fonction de leur capacit\u00e9 de d\u00e9grader des compos\u00e9s dangereux pour l\u2019environnement ou de catalyser des r\u00e9actions importantes dans la production alimentaire et d\u2019autres applications. Des volets de notre recherche ont \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9s en collaboration avec deux partenaires industriels afin d\u2019acc\u00e9l\u00e9rer la d\u00e9couverte d\u2019applications.<\/p>\n<p>Nous avons \u00e9tabli plusieurs types d\u2019outils exp\u00e9rimentaux. Premi\u00e8rement, nous avons identifi\u00e9 plus de 70 000 nouveaux g\u00e8nes \u00e0 l\u2019aide de m\u00e9thodes g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques perfectionn\u00e9es\u037e parmi ces derniers, quelque 3 000 peuvent avoir des applications pratiques. Deuxi\u00e8mement, nous avons mont\u00e9 un syst\u00e8me en laboratoire pour produire les prot\u00e9ines cod\u00e9es par ces g\u00e8nes, de sorte que nous puissions d\u00e9terminer leur utilit\u00e9. Troisi\u00e8mement, nous avons cr\u00e9\u00e9 une base de donn\u00e9es et des logiciels particuliers qui nous permettent de d\u00e9poser et d\u2019analyser nos r\u00e9sultats g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques. Quatri\u00e8mement, nous avons install\u00e9 une technologie de pointe appel\u00e9e puces d\u2019ADN qui nous permet de mesurer quels g\u00e8nes fongiques sont actifs, selon de nombreuses conditions environnementales.
