Genome Canada is delighted to announce the selection of Scott Davies as Vice-President, Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer, effective January 1, 2020.
In this new role, Scott will provide expertise and leadership in the development and implementation of financial and corporate strategies that support the operations of Genome Canada in alignment with its strategic direction.
As a member of the executive leadership team, he will play a key role in the financial governance of the organization as it begins its milestone 20th anniversary year, and as it seeks to fulfill the Genome Canada Strategic Vision aimed at positioning Canada as a world leader in the application of genomics-based biosciences for human health, the environment and across the bioeconomy.
Scott assumes the role with deep understanding of the organization’s finances, having been Genome Canada’s Director of Finance since April 2016. Prior to that, he was at the Canadian Institutes of Health Research for over 13 years in a series of roles, progressing from Financial Advisor to Manager of Financial Operations.
Scott holds a Bachelor of Mathematics and Chartered Accountancy from the University of Waterloo and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).
