The Centre for Advanced Proteomics Analysis (CAPA) is located at the Université de Montréal’s Institute of Research in Immunology and Cancer (IRIC). It provides a rich multi-disciplinary environment with state-of-the-art technologies that permit valuable collaboration with internal and external clients.

CAPA has unique expertise in analyzing Major Histocompatibility class I (MHC I) peptides from antigen presenting cells. The profiling of MHC I peptides from normal and cancer cells can be used to develop more effective cancer immunotherapy treatment. In addition to this unique strength, CAPA also provides a wide range of services to Canadian researchers, including the identification and quantification of proteins from complex samples, and the analysis of post-translational modifications typically found on proteins. In offering these services, CAPA builds on the expertise of IRIC scientists in protein chemistry, bioanalytical mass spectrometry and systems biology.

The Centre is equipped with leading-edge, high-performance mass spectrometry, liquid chromatography and electrophoresis instrumentation. It also relies on a strong expertise in bioinformatics for data processing and analysis. CAPA also trains highly qualified personnel, including graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, visiting scientists and research assistants, in the latest advances in proteomics analysis. CAPA will continue to advance novel concepts and environments that meet the highest criteria of scientific and academic excellence.
