Ivo G. Gut is Director of the Centro Nacional de Análisis Genómico (CNAG) based in Barcelona, one of the largest genome sequencing centres in Europe.
In the last 30 years, he has made major contributions to different areas of genome research mainly on different aspects of human disease, but also in the development of technologies and in non-human genomics. At CNAG, he leads the Biomedical Genomics Group and is principal investigator of the ongoing EU-funded projects Beyond 1 Million Genomes, 3TR, BCLL@las, EUCanCan, SCREEN4CARE, IMMUcan, EJP-RD. He was coordinator of the genomics technology project READNA, RD-Connect, which created an integrated global infrastructure for rare disease research, and EASI-Genomics, an EU Infrastructure Project. He participates in large international projects and consortia such as the International Cancer Genome Consortium (ICGC), the International Human Epigenome Consortium (IHEC), the International Rare Disease Research Consortium (IRDiRC) and the Human Cell Atlas (HCA). Dr. Gut is author of more than 400 research papers (H-index >120), 11 reviews and 12 book chapters, cited over 68 000 times, inventor of 26 patents or patent applications, founder of 4 biotech start-ups, and serves on numerous international advisory boards. www.cnag.eu
