Erum Razvi, Ph.D. is a Program Manager at Genome Canada, where she supports the development and delivery of national genomics funding initiatives and leads the Natural Resources Initiative. Her work focuses on advancing genomics innovation, data stewardship, artificial intelligence, and responsible Indigenous data governance across Canada’s research and innovation ecosystem.
Erum holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Toronto and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). She is also a Certified AI Professional through Oxford Saïd Business School. Her expertise spans genomics research, funding program development, AI governance, data strategy, and the responsible stewardship of scientific data.
Prior to joining Genome Canada, Erum served as an Advisor at Ontario Genomics, where she leveraged her scientific expertise to help secure approximately $50 million in federal funding for Ontario-based genomics research and innovation initiatives. She became a recognized subject matter expert in artificial intelligence, data governance, and genomics strategy, and served as the inaugural Chair of the organization’s AI Committee, providing leadership on the responsible adoption and governance of AI technologies.
