Fatima Ahmed is a medtech and life sciences executive with 20 years of experience across the healthcare and innovation sectors, as well as an early-stage investor and strategic advisor with a focus on operations and governance.

With a career intersecting biotechnology, global health, and innovation, she has led teams through programs spanning antibody discovery, public health, and health systems strengthening. She was an integral part of the early team at AbCellera Biologics, where she guided the expansion of discovery platforms during the company’s rapid scale-up, developing procedures that enabled significant scientific and technical growth. Building on this expertise, she co-founded Building Bloc Systems to address critical structural vulnerabilities in healthcare supply chains. As COO, she collaborates closely with stakeholders across government, NGOs, and industry to develop a platform solution embedding critical resilience, localized manufacturing capability, and operational sovereignty into regional health ecosystems.

Beyond her primary executive responsibilities, she is deeply committed to community and humanitarian initiatives. She serves as Board Chair at the Pacific Immigrant Resources Society and as a Board Director at ShelterBox Canada. She holds a Master’s of Science degree from Simon Fraser University.
