Julien Saulgrain is the Managing Partner of Blue HF Legal, a Montreal-based business and technology law firm.
Recognized among the leading Canadian lawyers in technology law and venture capital law (most notably by leading legal directories such as Chambers and Partners, Best Lawyers and Lexpert), he was named “Lawyer of the Year” in venture capital law in Montreal in the 2026 edition of Best Lawyers.
With over 25 years of experience, he advises clients on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, with particular expertise in technology-driven transactions and complex contractual arrangements. Julien regularly represents venture capital funds as well as emerging and established companies across a range of industries, including technology (AI, cloud, biotechnology, medtech, cleantech, robotics and semiconductors), manufacturing and retail.
Julien holds a Bachelor and a Master of Laws (digital law) from Paris V and XI Universities, France, as well as a Master of Laws (LL.M) from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.
