Nicola Katz

Director, Communications

Nicola Katz is a communications specialist, content strategist and cross-functional team leader. She drives Genome Canada’s strategic communications, oversees our digital presence and forges strategic partnerships across the six regional Genome Centres and among government stakeholders, media and the research community to communicate how genomics research and innovation deliver impact and improve lives.

Nicola has more than 20 years’ experience in communications and storytelling in the private and not-for-profit sectors in a range of subject areas—including investment banking, high tech, health care, child welfare, the humanities and social sciences, and now the life sciences. She is expert at communicating complex ideas, connecting stakeholders across sectors, and building strategic relationships with partners, influencers, media and the public.

Fluently bilingual, Nicola has an MBA in marketing from McGill University and a B.Sc. in international relations from Georgetown University.
