New genomics-related funding within the HRTP program

Genome Canada partnered in October 2023 with five Institutes at the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Centre for Research on Pandemic Preparedness and Health Emergencies, and Mitacs, to invest in the 2024/25 Health Research Training Platform (HRTP). The first program will be the Canadian Bioinformatics, Computational Biology and Health Data Science Training and Community Platform (BCBHDS Platform ).

Entitled The Canadian Bioinformatics, Computational Biology and Health Data Sciences Training and Community Platform (BCBHDS Platform), the program will support the training and building of a data science community across Canada. This work will grow the number of researchers using bioinformatics, computational biology and data science (B/CB).

The initiative will offer B/CB training and we support the growth of careers in B/CB. In the Training Hub, researchers will learn how to access, manage and study health and life science data. In the Community Hub, B/CB researchers will be connected across Canada.
